Yuri Malina is a Franco-American scientist and entrepreneur. He is currently a PhD student in UC Berkeley's Molecular & Cell Biology program, in the lab of Prof. Barbara Meyer where he is studying the mechanisms of gene regulation during embryogenesis in C. elegans.

Prior to joining the Meyer Lab, Yuri was the co-founder of SwipeSense, a venture-backed healthcare startup which was acquired by SC Johnson in March of 2020, and Design for America, a university-based non-profit which merged with the Watson Foundation in September of 2020.

He studied Science and Mathematics in the Integrated Science Program (ISP) at Northwestern University. He has several patents to his name, and was listed in Forbes 30 under 30 in the Social Entrepreneurship category in 2015.
